From humble beginnings, the Singapore Straits Regatta has grown in size
and stature to become a leading Asian regatta, attracting top
contenders from an international field. This has been achieved with the
help of volunteers, enthusiasts, supporting clubs, marinas, and a
steady stream of sponsors.
Over the course of the years the Regatta has received the support of
many illustrious brands & companies, including boat & METS
Asia, Brewerkz Beer, Coffee Club, Daimler Chrysler, HAM Dredging, Neil
Pryde Sails, Oregon Scientific, San Miguel Beer, Sembcorp Gas, Sentosa,
Siemens, SIMRAD, Singapore Salvage Engineers, Raffles International Hotels
& Resorts, TAG Heuer, IndoChine Restaurants and Volvo, to name a
few.
All over the world, sailing regattas work in partnership with sponsors
in alliances that are mutually beneficial and symbiotic. The Singapore
Straits Regatta (SSR), organised as a SingaporeSailing event, is no
different. The SSR presents a unique opportunity for sponsors to reach
and target an upwardly mobile, high disposable income market at a level
of intimacy not replicated elsewhere. The synergy is evident
particularly in the more developed sailing regions, where renowned
brands work with regatta management to promote and build their product
image. Although sailing as a sport has wide appeal, a sporting event of
the SSR’s standing attracts the higher echelons of society
– the Regatta has been written up in the Peak, Tatler, and other
lifestyle magazines, in addition to the yachting press. The organisers
welcome queries from prospective sponsors who wish to learn more about
sailing, or how they can benefit from a relationship with the event. |
